What I eat on the Keto Diet to Manage Gestational Diabetes

Here is a list of foods I’ve been living on to manage my gestational diabetes with the keto diet!

(*) is to signify that I have to measure/watch these foods a bit more closely because they do have higher carbohydrates than the other items on the list

  • avocado (*)

  • eggs

  • steak

  • salmon

  • chicken

  • pork

  • sardines in oil, (I prefer the oil over water to give me the extra fat!)

  • sausage, salmi, deli meats

  • any cheese but especially swiss cheese these days

  • olive oil

  • Vegetables:

    • salad (any kind, but mostly I love romaine and mesclun mix with herbs)

    • cucumbers

    • celery

    • spinach

    • broccoli

    • mushrooms

    • baby carrots (in moderation, like 4-5 per day)

    • spaghetti squash (*)

    • artichokes (*)

  • Nuts

    • salted macadamia nuts

    • raw almonds

    • peanut butter salted (no sugar) (*)

  • Fage 5% yogurt (*)

  • Be well by kelly vanilla protein powder

  • Keto Granola (*)

  • Crepini egg wraps

  • Outer Aisle cauliflower sandwich thins (these have been a lifesaver!)

  • Picnik keto creamer
